I bring my experience to organisations of all sizes, wherever they are in their story.
“I’m curious by nature, practical in my approach and comfortable offering a different perspective.”
For two decades, I’ve advised organisations through defining moments.
Today, I work with companies of all sizes, from scale-ups to established businesses, supporting ambitious leaders and their teams.
My work focuses on helping organisations look ahead, tell their story and get people behind it. From introducing new CEOs and their vision to defining corporate brands and thought leadership, I shape how companies present themselves, communicate their strategy and build stakeholder buy-in.
That work extends to guiding businesses through acquisitions and transformation, preparing them for crises and developing digital and AI governance, balancing reputational risk with commercial priorities.
I’ve always been fascinated by what brings out the best in leaders and teams and how that translates into business success. My experience managing teams led to professional training in coaching, which I offer to organisations building the leadership skills and team dynamics that make change work. I believe in honest conversations, constructive challenge and working relationships that are as fun as they are productive.
My career has included senior corporate affairs roles for some of the UK’s largest listed and best-known businesses, including Compass Group, IHG Hotels & Resorts, Currys and the John Lewis Partnership, working across global markets, complex organisations and major commercial decisions.
But my curiosity about organisations and their stories began much earlier, as a business journalist. There, I first got under the skin of a company, exploring its ambitions and challenges, meeting the people shaping the strategy and discovering what makes a story compelling. I learned how the media works and built relationships with journalists that I still draw on.
Finding the story worth telling and understanding the people behind it are just as important to what I do today.
My professional experience is supported by continued learning in leadership, coaching and the issues shaping business today.
I had the pleasure of working closely with Amy on Compass Group’s acquisition of Vermaat, a complex, high-profile international transaction where she led both internal and external communications.
Amy is an exceptional communications professional, combining sound strategic judgement with an instinctive understanding of what is needed and when. What I valued most was how effortless she made working together. She quickly understood the objectives, anticipated potential challenges and simply got on with delivering. I rarely needed to review her work and never had cause to challenge it, such was my confidence in her judgement and ability to get things right.
What is perhaps less visible, but equally impressive, is the work Amy does behind the scenes. From anticipating reputational risks to developing detailed crisis communications and contingency plans for scenarios we hoped would never materialise, her preparation was meticulous. Much of that work will never see the light of day, which is often precisely the measure of its success.
Amy is someone I trust enormously. She brings intelligence, discretion, pragmatism and a wonderfully calm confidence to everything she does. I would work with her again without hesitation and recommend her wholeheartedly.
Working with Amy has really helped our small charity team focus not just on what we do, but how we can work together most effectively. It’s helped us celebrate our strengths, understand each other better and identify ways to improve. I feel it’s strengthening the bonds in our team and improving communication and performance.
Amy took the time to understand the challenges and pressures we face. She has a wonderful way of drawing everyone out so that the whole team feels confident and safe to contribute, while gently steering conversations and helping us tackle difficult issues constructively.
Having Amy as your team coach is like having a compassionate yet no-nonsense best friend in your corner, who helps you be the best you, and believe it.
We needed to raise £450,000 to complete an acquisition, with an innovative plan and no marketing budget. Amy led the campaign from the front: she shaped the story, got the whole team pulling in the same direction and handled the media interest with real skill.
